You will provide both onsite and remote support, working closely with teams across the business to help maintain and continuously improve our integrated H&S systems and procedures. You will be part of a supportive team of social work staff based at the Council Offices in Kirkwall.

You should hold a degree or Post Graduate Qualification in Social Work that allows registration with the Scottish Social Service Council as a Social Worker.

You should have recent experience of working with young children in a structured context.

You should have a good general standard of education including literacy and numeracy and a minimum of 2 years work of volunteering experience involving children.

You should have a good general standard education including evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy and hold a SCQF level 5 qualification - e.g. SVQ2, NC or PDA in relevant subject area or where this qualification is not held be willing to achieve it within 3 years of taking up post.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
