You will be responsible for supporting with overseeing and delivering a program of activities to meet the needs of the children and young people who have a disability or additional needs. Also supporting with ensuring safeguarding and regulatory requirements are being met.

You will be required to work on a 1:1 basis (or 2:1 with support of an additional practitioner).

You will be working on a flexible contract where various interventions will be offered based upon location and match with a student.

You will need to be available during daytime hours, Monday-Friday.

You will be responsible for assessments, CPA reports, Mental Health Tribunals, Managers Hearings and will be requested to supervise junior staff members.

You will be working at Farmfield Hospital, situated located next to Gatwick.

You will join our multidisciplinary team in a 12-bed General Adolescent Inpatient Unit. The unit provides care for young people aged 13 - 18 experiencing acute mental health difficulties requiring inpatient treatment.

You will play a key role in clinical leadership, risk management, and therapeutic planning, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed care.

You will maintain effective communication and liaison with the Service Users, Families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality. Supporting Service Users with preparation of their meals, laundry duties, cleaning and social events. Maintain accurate notes and records as and when required.

You will be responsible for overseeing, delivering and leading Short Breaks Club sessions for children and young people who have a disability or additional needs, and to ensure that all safeguarding, regulator and health & safety requirements are being met.

You will lead the Supported Independent Living services, promote a compelling case for raising professional expectations and work collaboratively across the Council and with partners to deliver great services for residents.

You will be responsible for delivering assessments and interventions that promote independence and improve outcomes for individuals and their families or carers.

You will work alongside our experienced specialist team of Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Social Workers and Support Workers.

You will also work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapy Team Manager.

You will build sustainable relationships with them and plan for their permanence.

You will be responsible for ensuring their safety and support them towards independence.

You will be supported in this challenging role with regular supervision and consultations with our Mental Health Focussed Social Worker.
