You will help translate early-stage concepts into robust, manufacturable products by performing experimental work, analysing performance, and providing clear, data-driven feedback into the engineering process. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES. - Conducting technical feasibility studies in the design of ultrashort pulsed fibre lasers and their use in laser systems.

You will be responsible for providing our clients with expert advice through field-based troubleshooting, desktop simulations and risk-based solutions. Lead vibration surveys and assessments in accordance with Energy Institute AVIFF Guidelines for new design, existing plant or change in plant operation.

You will collaborate closely with cross‐functional teams, act as a facilitator for NCR and CAPA activities, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Work with production staff on build procedures, laser alignment techniques and best practices and tooling use. - Troubleshooting laser and amplifier performance issues, including electronics, cooling and tooling issues seen in Production.

You will ensure planning and delivery is in accordance with all safety, quality, time and cost parameters to meet the needs of the Project. Ideally you will be able to integrate all of the various engineering disciplines, developing an understanding across the project and working closely across the Asset Management and wider Altrad Babcock business.
