You will work collaboratively with one other Consultant Psychiatrist to provide a single point of contact for the mental health needs of patients attending the Emergency Department or admitted to William Harvey Hospital.

You will be fully registered with the GMC, and have Approved Clinician status and S12 approval under the Mental Health Act (or achieve this within 3 months of appointment).

You will be part of a well-established team of 18 consultant cardiologists, covering the full breadth of modern cardiology across our hospitals. Depending on your skills and interests, there is scope to shape the role — we would particularly welcome applicants with expertise in pacing, complex device therapy, electrophysiology, heart failure or cardiac imaging.

You will be talking to people on the telephone from a variety of different backgrounds, all with different experiences.

You will also receive ongoing support to ensure that you can provide victims with quick responses to meet their needs and help them cope and recover.

You will be working shifts Monday to Friday between 8am and 4pm or 12pm and 8pm.
