You will be the “Responsible Person” on site in the absence of the Quarry Manager. Key Responsibilities Assist in the planning and scheduling of production, including blasting crushing, screening and stockpiling to ensure it is carried out to the highest standard Assist the Quarry Manager in overseeing quarry operations to ensure production targets are met safely, efficiently, and within budget

You will be responsible for quality control inspections, verifying materials testing, and resolving immediate technical issues that arise during execution. Essential skills include robust communication abilities, deep knowledge of construction methodologies, and a commitment to maintaining stringent safety protocols on complex civil sites.

You will manage your workload efficiently, provide excellent customer service (this is at the heart of this role), and you will be expected to deliver expert advice.

You will be able to manage your workload independently, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.

You will be in charge of the maintenance and repairs of all electrical and electronic equipment and systems utilizing a safe system of work including electrical isolation, lock off and permit to work.

You will be familiar with using a Planned Maintenance System and keeping this up to date, and working in accordance with the International Safety Management Procedures.

You will operate under the Council’s WORKSMART arrangements which promote mobile and flexible work practices from any council premises travelling throughout the Council area.

You must have experience of managing within demanding and complex services and of working with customers/public and have experience of handling customer enquiries.
