You must be an apprentice-trained Electrical Maintenance Engineer with a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering. Have experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Proven expertise in PLC fault finding and electrical diagnostics. A proactive, problem-solving approach to engineering challenges.

You will contribute to the rapiddevelopment of analog and digital electronics, communication protocols, writing device firmware for bespoke electronic solutions, edge-computing and wireless communication.

You will be familiar with Computer Networks, Communication Protocols, Network Configuration with Windows and Linux platforms and Low-power RF Networks such as Bluetooth, Zigbee, Thread etc.

You will join a skilled engineering team supporting operations across Port Talbot, Newport, Cardiff and TrostreAlso you will provide Electrical and Instrumentation expertise for the Port Talbot plant

You will supervise personnel in line with Permit to Work requirements and actively contribute to SHEQ goals

You will need to be an excellent communicator who can articulate complicated issues between our clients and our highly skilled project teams.

You will also need to show a willingness to learn whilst demonstrating a high level diligence and organisational skills. Ridge operate a CIBSE accredited mentor scheme for registration to the Engineer Council to obtain CEng

You will support by drafting technical specifications and requests for quotations from OEMs and contractor partners. Your role involves the overseeing of project engineering activities to ensure the area you are responsible for is completed on time and to budget, safely and to the designed standard.

You should also have excellent time management, problem solving and analytical abilities.
