You will be working at Wellesley Hospital, a purpose built 101 bed hospital in Wellington (Somerset) for men and women with mental health needs. There are 6 wards for people with mental health needs and 1 ward for people with Learning Disabilities and Autism.

You will be working with young people aged 11 to 21 who have been placed into the care system for numerous reasons with an array of disorders, behaviours and needs and therefore we require individuals who have the confidence, understanding, patience and skill set to successfully work with these young people and make a positive impact on their lives.

You will provide assessment, care management, and social work services to children and their families, arising out of the council’s duties and powers under legislation, Council, and Group policy.

You will promote and model effective working arrangements with Mental Health services and other voluntary and community partners to support Care Experienced young people.

You will work closely with adults who require support to maintain their wellbeing, build confidence, manage their tenancy and develop independence.

You will support service users both within their homes and the wider community, offering practical, emotional and recovery-focused assistance.
