You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service. This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.

You should have experience of carrying out routine general maintenance with a commitment to a high standard of working, and also a good understanding of security issues.

You must hold a First Aid Qualification or be willing to work towards this.

You will be required to carry out tasks and duties, delegated by senior staff, in an effective and efficient manner ensuring, at all times, the social and domestic care needs of service users.

You should hold an SVQ3 in Social Care or other relevant qualification to enable registration with the SSSC as a Practitioner in a Care Home Service for Adults.

You will be required to carry out tasks and duties delegated by the Registered Manager in an effective and efficient manner, ensuring at all times the social and domestic care needs of service users.

You should hold an SVQ 3 Social Services and Healthcare, or equivalent level qualification, to enable registration with the SSSC.

You should have recent experience of working with young children in a structured context.

You should have a good general standard of education including literacy and numeracy and a minimum of 2 years work of volunteering experience involving children.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service. You will assist in preparing a choice of nutritional meals to a consistently high standard, whilst also ensuring the highest standards of food hygiene.

You should hold an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate or, if only an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate is held, be able to achieve an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate after appointment to the post.

You will assist in preparing a choice of nutritional meals to a consistently high standard whilst ensuring the highest standards of food hygiene.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
