You will be responsible for teaching motor vehicle mechanics skills, employability skills, functional skills and life skills, often to challenging and disengaged young people with learning difficulties.

You will be supported by our expert Clinical team, giving you plenty of exposure to mentoring and coaching with opportunities for continuing professional development, training, and career progression.

You will also gain experience being part of an in-house occupational health team where you can help shape the team, culture and ways of working.

You will carry no responsibility for inpatients.

You will learn to interact with other specialties such as the Mother and Infant Mental Health team and Neuropsychiatry.

You will be fully registered with the GMC, and have Approved Clinician status and S12 approval under the Mental Health Act (or achieve this within 3 months of appointment).

You will learn how to assess and control risks, understand legal responsibilities, and investigate incidents. Step 2 – NEBOSH General Certificate Build on your foundation with the NEBOSH General Certificate, the gold standard for health and safety professionals. This qualification covers workplace hazards, health and safety legislation, and how to design and implement effective safety systems.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and you will be an excellent listener.

You will be on the General Medical Council's GP register, having passed the MRCGP (or equivalent) and gained a certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). An interest in teaching would be ideal, and the development of areas of special interest would be welcomed and nurtured.
