Project Officer jobs in Reading

You will be responsible for all the commercial and operational aspects of a portfolio of suppliers.

You will join one of our established and expanding Commercial Teams, and throughout your career at Thames Water, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of major projects ranging in value from £25k to £500M.

You will lead the delivery of engineering and energy projects, supporting clients in optimising building performance, reducing energy demand and delivering viable decarbonisation strategies. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will provide clear, commercially focused technical guidance that delivers real operational impact.

You will receive a comprehensive induction, training, and awareness sessions to support your effectiveness in the role - A commitment to provide the time (circa 20 days per annum) and energy required is essential.

You will utilize your sales and communication skills to engage with potential students, guide them through the admissions process, and facilitate their transition to becoming enrolled students while providing exceptional customer service. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

You will also gain valuable hands-on experience in commercial and project management functions including pricing, schedule preparation, and site coordination. This position would suit a degree-qualified Structural or Civil Engineer looking for progression and variety in a supportive, close-knit team where long-term development and flexibility are prioritised.

You will also work with the different directorates within SSEN Distribution and project teams to ensure that designs and architecture meet security requirements. The role will provide domain expertise for SSEN Distribution to protect our technology systems. Leading the interface between SSE Group Cyber Defence Teams and the operational teams within SSEN Distribution.

You will manage delivery of projects under a defined roadmap of project commitments, managing the assigned projects and scheduling tasks, reviewing work packages, and communicating project progress with senior stakeholders.

You will oversee scope, change, risks, budgets, and delivery in line with defined project charters and agreed project management standards.
