Publishing Manager jobs

You will lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements and management reports, oversee monthly and quarterly reporting cycles, and manage accounting, audit, and tax processes. Additionally, you'll coordinate inventory counts, maintain asset records, and uphold compliance standards.

You will also be working with the Magazine Editorial team, key external agency partners and the Head of Finance as required, you will manage the full publishing revenue budget, which is comprised primarily of the magazine subscriptions, and advertising revenue, both internal and external.

You will provide technical expertise and leadership for a high-performing team dedicated to designing and delivering scalable systems that leverage cutting-edge technologies, data insights, and resilient content delivery pipelines.

You will be driving Engineering excellence for three of the key strategic platform areas for Which?

You will be working with key SN journals and PP&I stakeholders as well as Operations, Technology, Customer Services, Research Sales & Marketing, Finance, and others to align, agree, plan and drive improvement of (parts of) the end-to-end Publishing process.

You will ensure that all stakeholders are informed of project progress and workflow changes and coordinate stakeholder engagement as needed.

You will leverage deep knowledge of our technology and broader programmatic advertising trends to influence revenue across all integration types including: header bidding, oRTB, server to server, and all formats including: display, video, app, and CTV.

You will also have a passion to add real value to the clients and organisations to which you serve, and to be rewarded financially (uncapped) for your efforts.

You will be an integral part of the Sales team.

You will also facilitate and coordinate client interactions with other departments within the company such as Client Services and Editorial.

You will be passionate about strategic partnerships and excel at deepening existing relationships to unlock mutual value. Using a consultative approach, you will act as a trusted advisor to some of the largest publishers in the UK, identifying opportunities for optimisation and ensuring long-term retention.

You will be jointly appointed to the Department of Organisation, Work and Technology and the Faculty of Arts, and will also collaborate with colleagues in Lancaster University Library.

You will be working closely with the project Principal Investigator Professor Joe Deville, as well as the wider project team.

You will lead the process from concept to final delivery, ensuring industry best practices are embedded throughout. This role involves liaising with internal teams, external industry partners, and steering groups to gather intelligence, contribute content, and ensure the publications meet the highest standards.
