You will be part of the team looking after Jedburgh Abbey and join the existing staff in welcoming and interacting with visitors. One of the four great Abbeys established in the Scottish Borders in the 1100s, Jedburgh Abbey is famous for its beautiful Romanesque/gothic architecture.

You must be aged 21 or over - Formal qualifications such as: - Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) - Community Interpreting - NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registered is advantageous - Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages - Any other interpreting related qualification

You will be part of a highly motivated team looking after Melrose Abbey. Your role will be team based, but you will also need to complete individual tasks, with the post involving both indoor and outdoor work. Melrose Abbey is a key landmark in the Scottish Borders.

You will be part of the team looking after Smailholm Tower.

You will be self-directed and independent while interacting with the visitors to the tower. Smailholm is historically significant for its connections to Border Reivers and Sir Walter Scott. The site is also architecturally significant, being one of the best examples of keep towers surviving.
