Trainee Plumbing Engineer jobs in Birmingham

You will need to be a qualified plumber with NVQ level 2 or 3 and ideally have previous experience of maintenance and repairs, although this company are open to good plumbers keen to get into maintenance.

You will also require a driving licence as this is a mobile position and a van will be provided.

You will attend Leeds College of Building on block release to complete the Level 3 Building Services Engineering Craftsperson Apprenticeship. In addition, you will regularly attend in house training and development as part of the programme.

You will work alongside experienced plumbing engineers, receiving comprehensive training and mentorship to establish a solid foundation for a successful career in the plumbing trade. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and heating systems.

You will work within TPM systems, carrying out both reactive and planned maintenance while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. This role requires flexibility with shift patterns and the ability to work independently when required, including being the sole engineer on site at times.

You will conduct regular inspections to ensure the safe operation of gas systems

You will assemble components as needed for various projects.

You will collaborate with other tradespeople to complete installations efficiently.

You will maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.

You will install new heating and hot water systems, rectify faults with equipment and attend reactive call outs to plumbing jobs on request.

You will also work to a 1 in 7 weeks callout standby rota. Due to the nature of this role, a full clean UK driving licence is essential.

You will conduct regular inspections to ensure the safe operation of gas systems

You will assemble components as needed for various projects.

You will collaborate with other tradespeople to complete installations efficiently.

You will maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.

You will average 40 hours per week over the year working annualised hours (less in summer more in winter) but your pay will not change!
