You will provide a high quality clinical typing service to a team of Consultants supporting the Patient Pathway Coordinators. Ensuring that all correspondences are dispatched promptly to patients, GP's and other health care provider's as required within agreed time frames.

You will need fast and accurate audio typing skills and a sound knowledge of medical terminology.

You will also take ownership of investigating complaints, addressing performance issues, and handling disciplinary matters with fairness and professionalism, always in line with Trust policies and procedures. This is a varied and rewarding position that requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously.

You will undertake two ward rounds per week on Burstead or Orsett wards, run three outpatient clinics, and lead a bronchoscopy list every other week, ensuring a rich and varied clinical schedule.

You will also participate in the general medical and respiratory on‐call rotas, including a 1‐in‐7 weekend commitment.

You will be experienced in leading teams, have an understanding of NHS research agenda and working across the national research system, will be adept at developing strategies to support the delivery of research in line with local and national priority areas and key performance targets.

You will, in conjunction with other Critical Care consultants be directly responsible for the supervision of and training of junior doctors working within Critical Care. A high level of Consultant oversight is expected.

You will provide specialist clinical pharmacy services and advice to a specified clinical speciality(s), demonstrating a high level of clinical effectiveness.

You will also manage and develop the delivery of medicines to Basildon hospital patients through homecare services in accordance with current regulatory and national standards.
