You will play a key role in shaping practice standards, driving performance, and embedding high-quality decision-making within a fast-paced safeguarding environment.

You will take the lead on high-risk Strategy Meetings on a rotational basis and support the Team Manager with key operational functions including referral “ragging”, allocations, and authorisation of Social Worker assessments.

You will also have:The ability to provide a regular and effective service and promote positive culture in the workplace. Ability to communicate effectively. Detailed knowledge of civil engineering functions with a particular knowledge of flooding, shoreline management and maintenance and operation or harbours assets.

You must be a national of the United Kingdom or one of the following countries: Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Hungary, Greece, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain, or Poland.

You must not have lived or worked in any country outside of the UK or those listed above for a period of three months or more, while aged 18 years or over, within the past five years.

You must have the ability to travel throughout Shetland at short notice and where public transport is limited - We are happy to talk flexible working - We would be willing to consider part time working hours

You will be an enthusiastic individual and will work as part of a team responsible for the cleaning of ensuring that school buildings are kept in a clean and hygienic condition.

You should possess good communication skills, be able to work on your own or as part of a team and have a flexible approach to your work.

You will prioritize and assign work based on urgency and complexity, utilizing team resources effectively.

You will manage and deploy resources within budgets to meet policy objectives and service priorities, communicating effectively with the team.

You will review and evaluate Support Plans in accordance with guidelines, making adjustments for changing needs.

You will coach and mentor them to ensure they perform to the best of their ability. Using your outstanding communication skills, you'll collaborate closely with families, agencies and multi-disciplinary teams to implement and further develop support plans designed to help individuals succeed in their day-to-day lives.

You will combine operational leadership, oversight of risks and needs, and hands‑on support, modelling best practice in trauma‑informed care while helping residents achieve meaningful progress.

You will get 31 days’ paid holiday a year, increasing with each year of service up to 33 days.

You will provide leadership, supervision and direction, ensure effective workload management, promote high standards of practice and contribute to service development and improvement. The role includes chairing reviews of Community Payback Orders, managing staff performance and working closely with partner agencies to support public protection and positive outcomes for service users.
