You will be responsible for working and liaising with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners, and other stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the projects and community.

You will also manage and guide the more junior team members and help with their development.

You will be an integral part of our experienced and welcoming Civils Team, working on a variety of significant development and road infrastructure projects.

You will gain a Level 6 BEng Civil Engineering degree in conjunction with our Training Provider, Strathclyde University or Edinburgh Napier University (day release).

You will also ideally be an Incorporated or Chartered member of a relevant engineering institution e.g. ICE, CIWEM. You’ll have previous experience of developing detailed designs, working in a contractor led environment, leading and developing civil engineers and managing other technical professionals to achieve holistic technical outcomes.

You will have the opportunity to be involved in and take a lead role in a wide range of multidisciplinary projects.

You will be able to devise methodologies that meet the requirements of the client brief and are in line with best practice and industry guidance.

You will be able to deliver flood studies to project time and cost constraints and be able to self-review your work.

You will join a friendly team of over 80 Hydrologists, Hydrogeologists, Water Resources Planners and Water Quality Scientists as part of our wider Water Environment Team.

You will be expected to have responsibility for:

You will ideally have skills in hydraulic and hydrological Modelling, factual and interpretative reporting, data management, analysis, and presentation of results.

You will be responsible for supporting our Infrastructure team in Scotland and our UK Director of Flood Risk and Sector Lead for Flood and Coastal Resilience.

You will take responsibility for the whole project lifecycle from initial enquiry to successful delivery and manage other members of the team as well as wider relationships across the business.

You will have the opportunity to play an essential role in various multi-disciplinary projects, including flood alleviation, flood risk assessment and surface water drainage and SuDS strategies for regeneration, urban expansion and large infrastructure projects.

You will ideally be Incorporated or Chartered with a relevant professional body or actively working towards chartership.

You will have experience of working in a similar role within the water sector, or other relevant regulated industry.

You will also be a degree qualified (or equivalent) engineer and you will ideally be chartered, or a member of a relevant engineering institution e.g. ICE. Support can be given to achieve this if required.

You will have the ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, with strong technical expertise in the likes of Civils, MEICA, Process or other relevant discipline. You will work across the entire project lifecycle in asset planning / strategy, concept design, outline design and detailed design, within our design and build joint ventures, guided by our Project Technical Leads and Senior / Principal Civil Engineers within the team.

You will also play a role in the mentoring & development of more junior engineers within the team.

You will have responsibility and lead the whole project lifecycle from initial enquiry through to successful delivery, and manage other members of the team as well as wider relationships across the business.

You will, therefore, have an interest in enhancing the water environment, flood risk, and river engineering projects, with a focus on delivering a client-focused service.
