You will need to be able to set and work with manufacturing KPI's, labour efficiency, waste reporting etc.

You will also have experience of managing operators, technicians, supervisors, highlighting training requirements, dealing with recruitment, appraisals and so on.

You will play a key role in the development of the company’s novel lens system, contributing from early concept through to production. Key Responsibilities The Mechanisms Engineer will: - Design and develop micro-mechanisms for precision optical applications - Integrate micro-mechanisms into the company’s optical systems

You will also be tasked to pro-actively support the business within the Screens and Web Printing Manufacturing area.

You will be asked to weigh, measure and check raw materials to assure screens that are manufactured contain proper materials and quantities, and do not contain materials that have expired.

You will be supported by an excellent team and you get on the job training. During your shift, the Manufacturing Technician will carry out routine machine setting, machinery maintenance and running of the production lines and equipment to ensure production runs smoothly, their products meet quality standards, and the equipment is properly maintained.

You will support the daily walk‐around activities, interacting with quality, engineering, and other relevant support functions as required.

You will bring exemplary communication, organisation and time management skills.

You will also be educated to secondary level.

You should be excited about working in a fast‐paced environment within a hard‐working and welcoming team.

You will have a BSc (or higher) in Statistics or Mathematics. Previous experience working in a regulated or manufacturing environment, and SAS/R programming are advantageous. We will expect you to be able to successfully contribute to and manag a small number of projects, and work with colleagues from a range of backgrounds to explain statistical concepts to them.

You will be a key contributor, working closely with the Design and Production teams to develop critical equipment that supports the assembly of novel prototypes. As this is a completely new optical system, the role requires a high degree of creativity, with responsibility for developing first-of-their-kind assembly equipment and production processes.

You will characterise, optimise, scale, and validate the R&D team’s unique ophthalmic production processes, ensuring they are robust, repeatable, and scalable.
